yay i finally quit my job!!!XD i meant to quit on the 15th actually, but we had a new manager and he was rather fucked up. he screwed up my schedule until i was damn pissed so i quit straightaway. i wrote full shift twice on my schedule and he went to change it to evening and asked everyone to see before they left. anyway i didnt hear that and no one told me so i arrived in the morning rather to slock out my day and got a damn big shock. evening shift meant that i would report at 4.30pm and here i am at 11am. and i cursed and cursed grrr. super dulan cuz no way am i going to wait here and waste my time waiting for a stupid shift that i didnt ask for in the first place. so i called the other manager that it was either i stayed for a full shift i didnt work that day. then he said too many people in the morning shift le (aka morning shift+full shift people) so he said i could go home. oso good la cuz its rather tiring to take on consecutive days.

later i went to the bookshop to slack awhile before going home. then jiesheng called me and told me the new manager offered me to work for a full shift if i came back cuz he realised they didnt have enough people. cuz all those people in the morning shift included those who would work in the kitchen, so end up not enough service crewXDXDXD

sorry man i got too pissed at his lousy management so i said no and asked jie sheng to tell him i went home alreadyXD serves him right. later i decided to wait for kev when he releases at 4 to spite the idiotic manager even further. LOL. bought a good book to read and sat at carl's jr all the way till 4. lucky it wasnt really crowded else i would be super ps to take up the seat for so long.

next day, i went to work expecting full shift. but i decided to check the schedule again in case anything changed and sure enough, HE CHANGED IT TO MORNING SHIFT. HAH. lucky it was morning not night else i think i would have strangled him. and this time, i swear he didnt breathe a word of the change to me, nor even CALLED me on my handphone. anyway morning shift oso good. the less i see of the manager, the happier i am. called jie sheng and jioed him to quit together the next day. he says okay. throughout that shift, i was still rather pissed so i didnt really want to talk to him, heck even look at his stupid face. then he kept bugging me cuz he knew that i was angry for him changing the schedule yesterday (jie sheng told him) then he kept asking me, are you okay? how are you feeling? etc etc yabadaba, omfg can he just fuck off and leave me alone.

later towards the end of my shift, he asked me:"you morning shift today?"
"ya, you changed my full shift to morning shift what."
*looks at his watch*
"oh, if our restaurant has alot of people by 4.30, you stay here for full shift can?"

wtf. of course i wont la. you were the one who cancel away my full shift, how can you just anyhow last minute change my shift again?! thick skin leh. so bu yao lian.

anyway, i told the managers i was quitting to enjoy the rest of my holidaysXD cuz jan im taking up a relief teaching job. hip hip hurray!

YES. MAPLE ALL DAY. SLEEP ALL DAY. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT INTO THAT RESTAURANT AGAIN.

anyway, i forgot to comment on the customers. i didnt know how much singaporeans and ang mohs suck towards people who serve them. honestly, if i werent the service crew, i would have given the many i served a tight slap in the face. and so many are without brains. i can give you one good example.

"er, i dont want my sandwich to be without tomatos, cucumbers, leeks, cabbages, and mayo."
cant you just say you dont want vegetables and mayo in your sandwich?

another classic:
i served this teenage girl her pasta and she calls me back. i asked her what was wrong. she says:
" you didnt state on your menu that there would be cheese. (referring to the parmesan cheese sprinkled on top of the spaghetti) im allergic to cheese." and she stares at me.
WTF?!?!?!?!?! i mean, where does sphagetti not come with cheese on top?? all my life, every restaurant that serves me sphagetti comes with cheese on top. omg wtf dun bother. who would have thought that there would be people in this sunny island that is allergic to cheese? anyway i was like this is unbelievable and told that sphagetti naturally comes with cheese? lol. anyway, she should have known this. dont you dare tell me its the first time you had sphagetti. and couldnt you have prevented this by telling the waitress that you cannot take cheese, just in case they do have it on the sphagetti?

and some people dont have eyes. i was holding two stacks of dirty plates in my hands, and they wave to me, wait for me to walk to them, and ask me to take their order now. like wtf? a model waitress would have dropped the plates on the ground leaving them to shatter and take their order straightaway. a LOGICAL waitress obviously leaves them to wait awhile more or asks another person who is FREE to help take the order. for all the contact lenses and spectacles people own, they dont use them much in this case i think.

and, some people didnt read the menu carefully and just spit out their anger at the person who serves them the "wrong food". in the menu, the category was sandwiches. they can just look at me and say no and no. then they get oh so exasperated with one wrong order and get a menu. then they finally saw that they ordered the exact same thing i was holding in my hand and go sheepish. bah. they were also many cases where the person didnt specify that he or she didnt want something in their dishes and still dare to frown and look sullen when we served them the food.

so you can see, although there are many complains from all these so called "valued customers" about service crew, they arent any better themselves really. loads of them are just crap people who think they are kings and queens. some still ask if we take gst and service charge. some say that our food is expensive. like wth. this is a SHOPPING MALL. and i have yet to see any restaurant that doesnt use gst and service charge. BAH. to me, they sound like a whole load of poeple who want to go posh but are unwilling to spend the money. please, if you really cant bear to see your money part from you, dont bother to come in the first place. or just go to a decent food court. vivo has three of them.

tired. taking on this job certainly has its ups and downs. good for experience to see the dirty side of singaporeans, no matter how high class they claim to be. bad for long term.
