I was browsing Kenny Sia's blog out of boredom and saw a really interesting post, full with pictures, commentary and of course, interesting comments by readers at the end, in which some :

1.were totally not making sense
2. are in the midst of animal fanatism
3. were probably vegetarians who have a wrong sense of logic that plants are not living things and therefore it is not cruel to eat them but it is so for animals.
4. exibits other non-logical and overly sentimental yet idiotic perspectives towards the article
5. All of the above

Do take the time to read the post that Kenny Sia made before this(the vid) alongside with reading 10% of the comments which pretty much sums up the ridiculous comments made by people.

I came across this comment after Kenny Sia explained himself about the video and the negative comments.

Yet we applaud Kenny for his courage when a live cobra is cut open and his beating heart is eaten. I wonder if you would applaud someone's courage if he did that to a human being.
We save the endangered species and then find all kinds of interesting ways to eat farmed animals.
Funny how we always complain about the government being unfair in their policies with regards to race, then we say a rhino is incomparable to a cobra.

When I saw the phrase " We condemn racism and apartheid...but what about SPECISM? Wake up and see the world for what it is, people!", I really felt like slapping him/her. WTF?

I would have written THIS:
sia swei's examples are totally making no sense. In the first place, would Kenny eat a living human being?

Kenny has already stated that the cobra dies instantly with no registration of pain by an incision to the throat which was already proven SCIENTIFICALLY. You call that cruelty when it is arguably a very humane way of ending an animal's life - to give it a painless death? What has it got to do with the cruelty of humans inflicting pain and torture ON PURPOSE towards their own species?

In this senario the beating snake's heart is irrelevant to cruelty as the snake has already died before the heart stopped, and it is natural for the heart to still be pumping for a while before it ceases to function. So if Kenny waited for the heart to stop pumping, would it mean that his actions to eat the heart was justified?

There is a reason why we rear FARM animals you know; it is for the sole purpose of eating them, what else? It definately isn't for display, duh. You should not compare endangered animals and farm animals just because they are all animals because the purpose is DIFFERENT.

That is why a rhino is indeed incomparable to a cobra. This cobra was intended to feed people or even as a form of entertainment for people before they eat it. Did you realise that Kenny didn't request to see the snake being cut open? It was the restaurant's decision to display it so why blame Kenny when he's posting from a tourist's view. Rhinos were never farm animals in the first place.

Lastly, you have to realise humans always come first in their eyes. Human rights would always be of higher priority compared to any other "organism rights". Conservation of animals may seem oh-so-friendly, but you and I know it's because of humans that we conserve them. We conserve them so that we are able to do more reseach on them, we conserve so that our children can get to see these "rare" species, which are usually locked up in CRUEL zoos. So you see, in the end it's mainly for human's own benefit. You can quote about specism and other discrimatory stuff, but when America invades Iraq do you see any reports of innocent animals being bombed to death in the city? That's how the world works. Or would you like to change that? Therefore, WAKE UP AND SEE THE WORLD FOR WHAT IT IS, SIA SWEI!!

All in all, his/her examples are totally off the mark where they bear little or no relevance. WTH. It pisses me to see this stuff because what they do is to manipulate the data so that it seems like it will support their points when they are PURE TOSH.
